National Night Out, Tuesday, 7 August 2018!

July 22, 2018 at 2:10 pm
National Night Out (NNO) is ALWAYS the first Tuesday in August, so this year NNO will be on 7 Aug 2018 from 7-9pm. In the past we have held NNO at various locations throughout the neighborhood. This year we are going to have a common location in the parking lot at the Canterbury Woods Swim and Tennis club at 5101 Southampton Drive. You don’t have to be a member of the pool to attend, since it is being held at the parking lot. We will have an ice cream truck, water, tents for shade, some music, so please come out and support NNO. In addition, we will still have some hosted locations throughout the neighborhood for those that don’t want to come to the combined location. We will provide those exact locations in the near future, but for sure there will be one at the corner of Chanticleer and Queen Elizabeth.
So….. what is NNO? National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (Texas celebrates on the first Tuesday in October). Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.
