Time to DECK THOSE HALLS!

December 12, 2022 at 9:07 pm

It’s time for the Canterbury Woods Holiday Decorating Contest of 2022! Go wild with your seasonal display — celebrate whatever is important to you at this time of year. Let’s bring some light and joy to the neighborhood! You don’t have to do anything to enter, but you WILL need to have your festive trimmings up by Monday, December 19.
[Judging will occur between December 19 and December 23rd.]
DO REMEMBER to turn on your lights and inflate those inflatables every evening so the judges can see the full splendor of your efforts.

CW Holiday Decorating Contest NOW

December 4, 2022 at 11:42 am

December is a festive time where we celebrate in many ways. In CW, we like to encourage residents to dress up the exteriors of their homes so we have a Holiday Decorating Contest with PRIZES for the winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd place in various categories).

*How do you enter the contest?  Just do your decorating by December 19th. That’s it — all the homes in CW are automatically part of the contest.

*What are the categories? Best Light Display, Best Wreath(s), Best in Show, Most Creative Display. (Last year we also had Toddler’s Choice…we may do that again.)

*JUDGES: We’d like to have THREE people to judge. Are you interested? (Obviously, you need to be available after the 19th to work with the other judges on this task.)

If you have questions or want to help judge, contact Susan DiMaina at sdimaina@yahoo.com

Braddock Road Multimodal Project

December 3, 2022 at 2:56 pm

Please read entire post as I’m asking for CW resident feedback.

I’m not sure how many of our community were able to attend the multimodal project online meeting the other night, but you can listen to the meeting and review the documents/provide feedback at:

• Online, via the questionnaire: At virginiadot.org/BraddockMultimodal (click on the link that says “Nov. 29 Virtual Public Information Meeting Info”) • Via Email: Meetingcomments@vdot.virginia.gov (please reference “Braddock Road Multimodal Improvements” in the subject line) • By Mail: Mr. W. Calvin Britt, Virginia Department of Transportation, 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030

I want to capture Canterbury Woods residents main concerns to compile a unified response for CW and to also work with other civic associations for a more impactful response to our District Supervisor, legislators, and senators. Please send your concerns to any of the CWCA board members.
